English: This is a map published by the USGS in 1946 that captured the work of Nevin M. Fenneman who chaired a committee of the American Association of Geographers that was tasked with preparing a map of suitable physiographic divisions. The original version of the map, labeled by hand, was published in the National Academy of Sciences in January, 1917. |
