I love it, building blocks there. learning so much from you, Larry, Jack and Guthrie .. plus Shane T. What's nice is that you all have different styles. If I only had these resources in the 60's I'd probably be working in Nashville like you guys instead of being an old local gigger!! If only .. ha-ha. Good luck with your move. I'm sure the kids will love their new neighborhood and school. Loved that story about the Magpies! What really sticks out to me is that having exceptional raw talent like you and other greats is good (and would that i had it), but that unless it is married to passion AND really hard work, like you said you have had to do, then the dream of being involved with someone like a Vince Gill is merely dreamy mist. Though so late in life, you are helping me stay after it, and work as hard as i can to be truly musical.

Aren't they great amps? It's my favorite of all my amplifiers. Anyway, thanks for everything you teach us here. Makes a big difference! I always need to "break some new ground" like you said! Happy birthday fellow Aries! I find an interesting way to play around with transitions is by using a chromatic approach in the upper voice by stating the 5 of the next degree in whatever key to tonicize it, so like: I, V of ii, ii, V of iii, etc. in C that'd go C, A7, Dmin, B7, and so on. After the vi, you can use a 3rd inversion of the I7 then a ii-V-I to cycle it back around. Cheers!

I love Magpies despite having being swooped a thousand times back in the old bike to school days. They have such a beautiful call. I have some Maggies who come around for a hose shower on the hot Perth days. They call a temporary truce with the New Holland Honeyeaters and the Wattle Birds and line up in the big Eucalypt that overhangs our place.

You have the “X” factor Jedd! That special thing that no amount of study can attain. You either got it or you ain’t. On a different note, you’re probably too busy to answer….. and you’ve probably answered it a million times…. but what the heck is that Telecaster? It sounds as good as any vintage Tele I’ve ever heard. It actually sounds like Jim Campilongo’s. What is it?

Happy Birthday Jedd and great playing as always. Here in Sydney I think the Magpies are much more chill than they used to be. They're very smart and have largely worked out that if they play nice with humans they get fed in return. A lot of them literally push their chicks towards humans to develop a relationship. Nice symbiotic relationship. They scared the shit out of me when I was a kid too though..

Oh man…moving can be a hellish experience especially with young kids. You and your wife take a deep breath…it will happen!
